Mobile/Manufactured Home Decal

Owners of mobile homes that are located in Baldwin County on January 1 are required pay the ad valorem taxes on the home by April 1 of each year and obtain their location decal at that time.

All mobile homes in Baldwin County are required to have their current year decal visibly posted on the home. (It is permissible to tape the decal from the inside of a window so that it may be replaced easily each year.)

Mobile home bills are usually mailed in January of each year and are due by April 1.

Appeals

Mobile home owners who disagree with the Board of Tax Assessor’s value of their mobile home must file an appeal with the Board of Tax Assessors (Tax Assessor’s Office) within 45 days of the mailing of their tax bill or April 1st, whichever occurs later.

Failure to Obtain and Display Decal

Failure to pay the taxes and obtain the decal will result in a 10% penalty.

Failure to obtain and display the current year decal is a misdemeanor offense and will result in a $50 fine and the issuance of a citation for appearance in the Baldwin County State Court. Upon conviction, there will be a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $300.

Failure to obtain and display the current year decal can also result in the issuance of a tax lien against the home. A tax lien remains on your credit record for a minimum of seven (7) years.

Failure to obtain and display the current year decal can also result in possible sale of the mobile home.

Relocating or Moving a Mobile Home

It is unlawful for any person to move or transport any mobile home which does not have attached and displayed the current year decal.

Any person violating this law is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not less than $200 nor more than $1,000 or by imprisonment for not more than 12 months, or both.

To relocate a mobile home, you must obtain a relocation permit from:
